At Western Engineering, we offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all students. We have a dedicated first-year academic counselor, peer mentors, free peer-to-peer tutoring and support networks for women through the women in engineering student group and faculty and staff advisors.
Approximately 2,700 undergraduate students are enrolled in our nine undergraduate programs and close to 800 graduate students are completing degrees at the master’s or doctoral levels. Undergraduate students studying at Western Engineering have opportunities to explore options such as our Combined Programs with prestigious professional schools on campus such as the Ivey Business School or Western Law as well as with programs in the other faculties across campus.
Western Engineering is home to unique research facilities that help put us front and centre in developing environmentally sustainable solutions to the challenges we face in the world today. These facilities include the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR), the Insurance Research Lab for Better Homes, the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform fro the Northern Tornadoes Project, and the Wind Engineering, Energy and Environment Dome (WindEEE).
In all, Western Engineering strives to work within our community and beyond to prepare future engineers to reach their full potential in an ever-changing world.
Western Engineering is proud to offer students a huge array of opportunities, including Common First Year, 7 design-based core engineering programs, Dual Degrees, co-ops, Accelerated Master’s Program, leadership opportunities and more.
